We’re going on week 3 away from home and to be totally honest with you I’m tired of living out of a suitcase and I’m dreaming of swaddling myself in my own sheets. But I’m grateful for time with family and that Sam could help fix up the parts of the family beach house that really need it. My mom and dad are some of the greatest people on the planet and they help us out with our children so much when we all get together. Yesterday my mom and I went on an adventure with my boys and my niece up to to teeny tiny town of Davenport. We hiked down cliffs to get to a secluded beach with beautiful seascapes and explored Swanton Berry Farms. The farm was so fun because there’s a little shop that runs on the honor system offering amazing pie, coffee, cider, fresh pick strawberries and comfy couches and toys to play with! We ended up picking our own strawberries in the field and The Beatles “Strawberry Fields Forever” song played in my head while watching Zeke stuff his face and Waylon look for the perfectly ripe red ones.
I told Waylon we were going to a magical beach and that we might see mermaids…I maintain that I did not tell a lie because it was quite magical and the mermaids could totally be out there.
Little side note, I made that pink beanie for me niece like 5 years ago and she still wears it. Look real closely you’ll see a little crabby friend that we found…
Zeke did not want to be in the carrier on the way back up the hill but with his crazy toddler ninja moves I was not about to let him run off a cliff so this Tula carrier is a lifesaver for toddler-wearing.
…and then I let him roam free.
Then we headed to the farm. This place is so quint and lovely. If you’re ever driving down Hwy 1 to Santa Cruz you should definitely stop here.
Have you gained or lost happiness? Love that question…We didn’t leave a crum this Olal pie was so good.Currently googling how to remove strawberry stains…
It was a good adventure!
