Three things I really really L-O-V-E… -eating ice cream, flowers and empowering women!
In partnership with “Tillamook ice cream”, I combined all three of these things last weekend and celebrated the beginning of summer with a few of my favorite mompreuners. We sampled a few of the mouth-watering ice cream flavors that Tillamook makes, chatted over scoops and champagne and bonded over the common thread of women supporting women. Tillamook Ice Cream is good beyond words- it can’t be explained.
I think this might have to become a yearly tradition because it felt so right to start summer off this way. And I encourage you to do the same. Get a group of women together in your backyard and let the conversation flow. I borrowed this backyard but it was super easy!
Step One:
Put your ice cream in a cooler and display your toppings on a table nearby… also displaying the flavors you’re offering on a chalkboard or letterboard is a great idea!
Step Two:
Grab some flowers from Trader Joes or the Garden Section of Home Depot and sprinkle them about. I also had terra-cotta pots, soil and seeds and created a potting station for women to plant their “intentions or goals” for the upcoming season. *Side note if you don’t have enough chairs for everyone, lay out a couple mats with pillows for that extra comfy touch.
Step Three:
Offer cones and or mixed matched cups that you already own for your ice cream.
Step Four:
Make a fun playlist or find a good Pandora station to play (Otis Redding is my favorite). I asked one of my dear friends who happens to be a singer/songwriter Rheanna Downey to play which made the scene extra special.
Step Five:
Send your guests home with a little gift like a book or even just a card with a thoughtful note on it from you! The dollar section of Target is my favorite for things like this.
Step 6:
Enjoy!
