Summer is winding down and ’tis the season for back to school shopping! As a kid, this
used to be such a fun time filled with anticipation over what the new school year will
bring, what everyone will be wearing, and all the new opportunities that being one year
older would bring. As a parent, this is entirely different haha! Both our boys will be going
back to school in August.
Waylon will be in 1st grade…that still blows my mind…and Zeke will be in Preschool a
couple days a week. They don’t need as many supplies as I did when I was a young
teenager, like trips to Wet Seal and Target for the perfect outfits, binders and
backpacks. But we will be looking for new backpacks, a fresh pair of sneakers for both
boys and some fresh haircuts.
I just learned about a Refugee Backpack Drive our church is doing to help refugee kids
get off to a great start this school year. You can donate backpacks, school supplies, and
gift cards through “Our Refugee Friends: San Diego Lost Boys & Refugee Families”.
We’ll be using some of our Membership Rewards points we’ve earned from our Amex
EveryDay Card this year to purchase back to school items for the families in need.
Between earning 1X Membership Rewards® points for every eligible dollar you spend
or the 20% extra points you earn after making 20 or more purchases with your Card in a
billing period (terms apply)*, the benefits of this Card have been perfect for our family
and the Card will continue to be a staple in our wallet!
Kinda excited to have some more slower mornings nursing a newborn and sipping coffee.
