We have been on the move during the month of March. I like to balance our weeks with slow mornings at home and full days out when my oldest isn’t in pre-school. We’ve been exploring our city more…I love seeing how Waylon is soaking it all in and learning through experience. I’m developing a new travel series with friends that will show all the cool “kid-friendly” places in San Diego while showing the reality of getting out with kiddos….it may look perfect in pictures, (it’s not ha ha) but so worth it for the memories. During this trip we were walking through the arboretum at Balboa Park with our good friends, trying our best to keep the kids from picking plants and walking on the planters. One moment was particularly special/embarrassing when Waylon spotted a man behind me who was of “baby-boomer age” who had a cane…he yelled “hey mom look at that old man!” This was a first for me as a parent, its kinda a right of passage though ha ha.
We also met up with friends here for our annual egg hunt in the “Jewel of San Diego”. We all bring eggs filled with treasures and treats for the kids and they go on the hunt in front to the arboretum. It’s such a mixture of culture and beauty here; I get the feeling like I went to Europe in a day. Definitely worth sitting in traffic for, especially when both boys sleep…hello precious podcast time.
