Summer Plans + Preparing For Baby

SUMMMMMMERRRRRRR IS COMING YOU GUYS!

I’m so ready for summer and all the fun it brings. If you’ve been following us for a while you know that in
July we’ll be adding a new family member…our BABY GIRL!
So, our annual July summer trip to Santa Cruz has been placed on hold until, oh you know, I give birth
and we find our bearings as a family of 5. Our summer plans include: finalizing house plans to submit to
the city for permits, organizing our small home to make room for a baby and lastly a family BBQ, since
my sister and her family are moving back to San Diego woohoo!

Here’s a few family updates:

Everyone in our family pitched in for Sam’s 40th birthday and bought him a gift card to Shaper Studios to
shape his own surfboard…but he’s on a bit of time crunch and has to make it in the next month and half
before baby comes haha!
It worked out great, and I paid for it with my Amex EveryDay Credit Card so I could earn some major
Membership Rewards points. I plan on using all these hard-earned points for baby and family stuff. Once
you make 20 or more purchases on the Card in a billing period, you’ll earn 20% extra points on those
purchases*…so points can add up even faster! For instance, instead of 2x points on purchases at US
supermarkets*, you could get 2.4x (on up to $6,000 in purchases per year) – not a bad deal!

Since you can redeem Membership Rewards points at places like REI, I might actually be using some for
new camping gear. I have it on my bucket list to camp at El Captain in Santa Barbara…but, here are some
other great ways you can use your Membership Rewards points:

• Use Pay with Points at select merchants*
• Redeem for retail, restaurants, entertainment or American Express gift cards*
• Apply points to eligible charges on your statement*
• Use eligible points for some or all of your travel at amextravel.com*
• Transfer points to a participating loyalty program*

If only we could cash in these points for our new house haha! We’re still in the planning process, but
we’re moving into the soil engineering phase so that’s progress…slow progress but progress
nonetheless.
Waylon and Zeke will be doing swim class this summer since I’m adamant they become proficient
swimmers before I have a baby strapped to me all the time…Waylon is doing great at this; however,
Zeke is still against floating haha.

I’m getting our room ready for the baby since she’ll be in our room for the first year…I just sleep better
that way. I’m looking for bassinets and found a beautiful one from Pottery Barn and just discovered that
I can use my Membership Rewards points to purchase it!
I also have a crazy fun idea of making an outdoor movie viewing area for the nights we have family and
friends over. I haven’t figured it all out yet, but I think all you need is a projector, a white sheet and
some comfy pillows. I’ll let you know how this goes for sure!
Oh, and lastly we are looking at minivans since we can’t fit 3 car seats in our current vehicle…I’m actually
really excited to have a van with a lot more space. Road trips will be that much more bearable!

Amex EveryDay Credit Card

Who else gets a spring in their step…literally…when they feel the seasons changing? I love
anticipating season changes — for some reason it energizes me and gives me something to look
forward to. One thing I really look forward to about Spring (especially now since I’m expecting a
baby girl in July) is getting organized at home and in life, and that definitely includes finances.

We're building a baby and a house

In this phrase of my life (27 weeks pregnant) I crave simplicity and security…and I find that in
relationships, home organization, work flow and getting my finances organized. Think about this
season as time to assess your finances and credit card options, and make sure you have one
that’s rewarding you for all your purchases, especially those everyday expenses…because as
they pile up, so can your rewards!

In addition to the exciting welcome offers I’ve noted below, here are a few benefits that
our family really loves about our Amex EveryDay Credit Card:

• Earn 2x points at US supermarkets on up to $6,000 per year in purchases*
• 1x points for every eligible dollar you spend*
• Make 20 or more purchases with your Card in a billing period and earn 20% more points
on those purchases*
All these and more are reasons we’re earning points fast – next update we’ll share a little more
about how we’ll be using them!

For some people, this could be a particularly great time to assess credit card options and make sure you have one that’s rewarding you for all your purchases, especially those everyday expenses...because as they add up, so can the rewards!

You guys we are literally building a baby and a house at the same time….well, not actually at the same time. Our house is in the planning process, and the baby is fully on board and halfway here since I’m 26 weeks already! Instead of stressing over these two major life changes, we are choosing to be grateful…oh, so grateful… and plan for the future.

We're Building a Baby + A House At The Same Time

So with these big life changes come some pretty big (and many little) expenses, so it’s the perfect time to partner with American Express. I just opened my your own EveryDay Credit Card because it is truly one-of-its kind and offers so many great benefits that we’ll be able to take advantage of with all these upcoming expenses.

We’re currently waiting on our second round of house plans, I’m 25 weeks pregnant, and pretty much all I want to do is shop for baby girl apparel, home décor, and flowers (seriously, I never ever feel bad for buying myself flowers). Luckily, the Amex EveryDay Credit Card doesn’t just reward you for how much you spend but also how often you spend – you can earn 20% extra points* if you swipe your card 20 or more times in one billing period less returns and credits. This means my flowers are adding to the rewards!

Here are some other major reasons why we love the Amex EveryDay Credit Card:

● $0 balance transfer fees** on balance transfers made within the first 60 days of account opening.

● New Card Members can also enjoy a 0% intro APR for 15 months on purchases and balance transfers (after that, the rate varies 14.49-25.49%).

● New Card Members can also earn a welcome bonus of 10,000 Membership Rewards Points* after making $1,000 in purchases on the Card in the first 3 months.

● And to top it all off, there’s no annual fee ***Read about the offer and benefit terms** Note that rates and fees may apply

See what I mean!? That’s a credit card that works for you!

Thank you for joining us in the journey and crazy, chaotic but absolutely wonderful time in our lives – can’t wait to share more over the next few months so be sure to check out our updates!
