Cruising Santa Cruz in Americana Style

I’ve been coming to Santa Cruz since I was a girl. My parent’s bought a beach house in the quaint beach town of Capitola when I was about 8 or 9 years old; many memories have been made here. Since my husband Sam is a gifted carpenter we will actually be helping fix up part of our beloved beach house while we’re here and I’ll do my best to document the before and after of our projects…but that’s for another post. We had fun documenting some my favorite streets and hot spots on Capitola in Americana style outfits from Old Navy.
Americana Style In Santa CruzOne of my favorite things about this area are the flowers! The hydrangeas grow into huge colorful bushes that make me swoon and the redwoods reach the ocean in breathtaking landscapes.Cruising Santa Cruz in Americana StyleCruising Santa Cruz in Americana Style Americana Style In Santa CruzCruising Santa Cruz in Americana StyleBefore I get any further into this post I have to tell you how comfortable these pants are. I have athletic legs so sometimes it’s hard to find jeans that fit comfortably around the waist and booty area while not cutting off the circulation to my quads. These Mid-Rise White Flare Ankle Jeans will be on heavy rotation for the rest of summer because they fit so good. Cruising Santa Cruz in Americana StyleCruising Santa Cruz in Americana StyleWhen I think of Americana style I think of crisp clean lines not necessarily American flag prints but classic items like this Relaxed Pocket Tunic in blue and white stripes, which happens to only be $15.00 right now! Cruising Santa Cruz in Americana StyleCruising Santa Cruz in Americana StyleCruising Santa Cruz In Americana StyleCruising Santa Cruz In Americana StyleCruising Santa Cruz in Americana Style

Adding a simple yet unique accessories like this necklace by Natalie Borton, earrings by MadewellLeather tote by Hammit and Panama Hat. You can also dress this whole look up or down by changing out your shoes like I did with these loafer mules by Madewell and Old Navy lace-up huarache sandal. Accessories make the outfit come together like a your favorite topping on ice cream, which is funny cause that’s where we went next…Penny Ice Cream shop!Cruising Santa Cruz in Americana StyleCruising Santa Cruz in Americana Style Cruising Santa Cruz in Americana StyleCruising Santa Cruz in Americana StylePretty safe to say they love their ice cream…Cruising Santa Cruz in Americana StyleThe face of a toddler that loves his food. Now would be a good time to tell you how I picked out children’s Americana style without being kitchy. There are tons of cute American and USA prints to choose from but I stayed true to this clean and classic style with stripes and basics.
