Decking Our Halls

Christmas is so fun with kids! This year is the first year that Waylon actually understands what Christmas is;  I’m hoping this year to help him grasp the real meaning of Christmas…i.e. Jesus, the manger, salvation. We started this December off with new traditions like The Giving Manger, putting our old fake tree up in Waylon’s room and picking out a small but real tree for the living room. Decking our halls this year was more fun than any year before with my little helper at hand. However that doesn’t mean everything is jolly; it’s hard teaching a three year old they have to wait until the 25th to open presents. The other day a tantrum was ensuing so I pulled the “Santa card” and said that he doesn’t want to be on the naughty list. We exited the store in a full blown screaming fit yelling, “I an not naughty, I an not naughty!” Well tis the season I say. It has still been pretty joyful to experience the magic of Christmas with our boy Waylon and baby’s first Christmas with Ezekiel.
