Fit Mama: 4 Weeks Postpartum

It’s been 4 weeks and 3 days since I gave birth to Ezekiel and I’m feeling pretty great. I haven’t been cleared yet from my doctor to exercise but I wanted to do what I know my body is capable of and start getting back into shape. I am so excited to be able to run again and plan to do so with a jogging stroller. However, I have to be real with you…I feel like my uterus might fall out if I just jump back into running. So I’m starting off slowing and honoring my body. Today I put my Belabumbum active wear on, put Zeke in the Solly Baby Wrap and walked by the coast for about a mile. Our beach access has some pretty killer stairs so I walked up and down a few times and then found a bench to do some pushups, tricep dips, and ab exercises. If you want to follow along no gym is necessary, all you have to do is find some stairs, a bench (try the park), and get outside! Here is today’s first workout:

  • 1 mile walk
  • 4 sets of stairs (alternating skipping a step on the even sets)
  • 4 sets of 15 pushups against a wall or railing
  • 4 sets of 15 tricep dips off a bench
  • 2 sets of 15 crunches sitting on the bench while brining your legs into your chest.
