The other day while driving with the windows down I felt the crisp clean air and spied a dozen cherry blossom trees which can only mean one thing… SPRING is in full swing. Our bodies really can sense the changes of the seasons and that’s why it feels so good to just go with it… to embrace the seasons for what they hold: fresh starts, fun, harvesting and cozy nesting. Spring of course is a season of newness, fresh beginnings after hibernating in winter and this year I’m ready to open up the windows and dust off winter….probably because I really can’t wait until summer when our baby girl arrives.
But here’s something to ponder while you’re getting your home spruced up and wiped down… you’re participating in history! Yes spring cleaning is deeply rooted in cultural tradition and linked to our biology.
During winter our bodies tend to be more sleepy and sluggish with fewer daylight hours. Those shorter days actually trigger the release of melatonin in our brains and cause sleepiness. So that’s my excuse for not cleaning enough in the winter and I give you full permission to use it as well ha. With longer days and more sunlight to shine light on our dust and lack of tidiness it’s time to get at it! I’m so happy to have a found Grove Collaborative a website that offers the best natural cleaning products and makes it so easy to try new green products out.
Here are some of my old and new favorite clean and green products from antibacterial spray to sunscreen and probiotics for my kids! I absolutely love the smell of all Mrs. Meyer’s cleaning products especially this peony scent and right now for new customers you can get free Mrs. Meyer’s hand soap, dish soap, multi-surface spray and the Grove pink linen apron….existing customers will get a little bonus gift tho too. You can click here to take advantage of that goodness.
Don’t judge me I haven’t cleaned this mirror yet but totally intend to attack the dust in our house with this microfiber duster wand!
One of my Spring “to do” list items is to clean all of our baby girl’s new clothes with Mrs. Meyers Baby Clean Day Laundry Detergent. I love the feeling of clean baby clothes so this is a fun one!
…and don’t forget to add this Method antibacterial spray to your cart because coming down with a cold this time of year is no fun at all and for some reason still keeps happening in our house, ugh! Everyone’s getting sprayed down with this before meals, just kidding…kind of.
I’ve never had more fun shopping for cleaning products and I love how Grove Collaborative makes it easy to discover amazing natural home and personal care products. They select only the best non-toxic products, so you can shop with confidence knowing that everything on their site is good for you, your family, and the planet. Don’t forget to check out their free offer for new customers here….it’s a pretty sweet deal!
xo,
Chrissy
