Practicing gratitude has been a game changer for me. It’s helped decrease my anxiety and live in the moment, but like all things it’s a practice and not something I’ve perfected. Sometimes I fall off the wagon in my healthy practices and that’s okay. Sometimes I go through season of feeling full and sometimes I dip back into striving. Lately I have been feeling overwhelmed with my goals. I was letting life and the things I want overwhelm me into thinking that I was lacking.
This last weekend I settled into the present moment and photographed my family in our everyday routine. I used a FujiFilm XT30 and edited these photos in Lightroom and saw gratitude anew in the photos I took. What I saw was so much beauty… I saw it in the faces of my kids on the swing, the color of a fun umbrella at the beach, my daughter playing with my old phone that I had when I was falling in love with her dad, a butterfly on Zeke’s first field trip and so much more. Isn’t it great when we center ourselves on truth and can see the beauty that is right in front of us?! It’s amazing. I hope you see it today.
Look closely and you’ll see it… a tiny caterpillar preparing to become a butterfly.
I posted this photo on Instagram and many of you loved my outfit so I linked some similar items here…
