Okay so one of my favorite ways to dress is for comfort but I love mixing pieces that are fancy and then not so fancy. I love pairing a dress with sneakers + a baseball hat, vintage Levis with a fitted Chloe top and throwing a nice jacket on over it all to pull the look together. The juxtaposition of inexpensive or more carefree articles of clothing with ones that are a little more high maintenence makes for an interesting and fun look. I found these vintage jeans at a local popup shop and had them taken in at the waist… they’ve been on heavy rotation ever since. On this particular day I paired them with my most designerest of tops from Chloe plus inexpensive Vans I found for $9, a Rais Case cross body purse, classic Ray Bans, and an Ann Taylor jacket I found for a steal at our local outlet mall. Zeke is wearing a v-neck shirt from Old Navy (my favorite place to find cute and reasonably priced kid’s clothes), H&M shorts that used to be his big brother’s and hand-me-down Van’s sneakers from a friend.
If you want to know how to find the perfect pair of vintage Levi’s I’ll let you in on a little secret my friend Bev Weidner told me in episode 3 of the Sure, Babe Podcast, which you all should listen to cause she’s freaking hilarious. Bev said to buy men’s vintage Levis on Amazon or find a pair at your local thrift store that fit in the waist or booty area and have the leg width taken in on the side and cut into a raw hem. I recently saw on her Instagram stories that she found a pair of black wranglers for $7 then paid the $20 to have them tailored to her body and now they look like $200 vintage jeans.
Never underestimate the value of a white sneaker…. they go with everything!
