Last week I did something I haven’t done in over two years…I took a group workout class, a group cycling class that revived my body, mind and soul! Working out for me lately looks like running with my kids in a jogging stroller stopping 4-5 times to look at bugs and play DJ for my musically picky 4 year old. I love these exploratory runs but a workout for just me was very welcomed. As a mother it’s hard to find child care and justify spending time and money on myself away from my kids. But I’m telling you friends it is worth it; you will never regret investing in yourself and your health. This class for ME.
When I entered the new downtown San Diego Spin Studio it was a breath of fresh air with it’s open space, exposed ceiling, modern seating area and super clean bikes. This all appealed to the design lover in me and in a way it made me feel appreciated and taken care of, like this experience is more than a workout it’s an escape from the hurried world we live in.
Wow I haven’t even mentioned the amazing workout I had yet. It was forty five minutes of fun. It was breath-taking at times with waves physically pushing myself, mentally stimulating and yes it even stirred my emotions. I have never taken a cycling class like this before where the next song is better than the last and the instructor doesn’t bark or intimidate you with demands beyond your ability. Cycling for those forty five minutes was a dance party with synchronized lights, inspiring music including a remix of Mumford and Sons that would have anyone pumped to push up the imaginary mountain on a bike.
Thanks for having me Pure Indoor Cycling, I will not soon forget you and I will be back!
xoxo,
