I have always loved style and design. As far back as I can remember, I have loved putting looks together and would spend entire Saturdays redesigning my bedroom. Once when I was 13, my parents let me sponge paint their powder room periwinkle and turquoise… I was so dang proud of that bathroom ha. ha. What I’ve come to learn is that it’s okay to love design and beauty; some of us are made that way and we create beautiful spaces for people to do life in. As a therapist and a creative I’ve learned that beautifully designed spaces have healing and calming benefits. I’m fascinated by how our environment shapes our outlook, mood and mental health.Which is why I’m excited to announce I’ve joined West Elm’s first Collective of Insiders….it couldn’t have come at a better time as we are almost finished building our house and are entering into the decorating phase! Gah I can hardly wait!
As a @westelm Insider, I’ve curated my own West Elm shop featuring all my favorite modern and sustainable designs. Click here to check out my shop with items that were handpicked to create a mentally calming and restorative home.
Here’s some more info on this collective:

One of my favorite things to do is bring the outside into our home. We collect shells, rocks and gems from different places and adventures we’ve gone on and display them throughout our home. Instead of candles I opted for gems from Joshua Tree and shells from Hawaii in these Mid-Century Wood Lanterns.
No matter how many times I’ve tried to switch up the towels or bathmats in our bathrooms I always come back to white. It’s just so clean and soothing and also easy to bleach because we have kids. This white Organic Double Arch Bath Mat doesn’t lack in detail and I’m obsessed. It also comes in a rainbow color if you want a pop of color… matching Organic Premium Spa Towel Set in white linked here!
I can’t help but love a light pink dinnerware set! Something about this color and simple design just makes me happy. I love balancing feminine and masculine energies and items in the home. This Eden Serveware board and Fruit Bowl make a statement without having to make a statement if you know what I mean. I brought this display over to a friend’s house for Easter lunch and everyone commented on how beautiful they were with or without the cheese. 😉
When I’m not using it as a serving board or bowl I use it as a centerpiece for our kitchen table.
No matter how you decorate your home make sure you add your personal touch to it. Try adding some earth elements to help with grounding and notice which items make you feel joy. A simple switch to a calming color or soothing fabric can enhance your home and how you feel in it. So happy to have you join me on this sustainable home journey with West Elm.
