Summer Essentials for Zero boredom

When I was a kid summer meant running free outside in my ruffled two-piece, getting tan as a berry (since it was the 80’s and sunscreen wasn’t really a thing) … I’d wear myself out everyday and fall asleep watching “Full House” at the end each day. Summer created adventures that were long lasting and made me look forward to this season every year; yet there wasn’t one summer that I didn’t say to my parents, “I’m bored.”

Now that I’m a mom I want my kids to have the same wonderful memories of summer; in partnering with Pottery Barn Kids I created a list of a few items I think make summer extra special and boredom proof. I hope you enjoy summer wherever you’re at!

1) Beach Essentials: I love having a “home base” at the beach so this family pop-up tent worked well to create our own little nook providing a place to hang out and hold our things in one place. Some other major hits our family loved are the sand claw, inflatable shark and seahorse balls, shark towelwhale beach wrap and family shoulder cooler bag. I loved that our food stayed organized and cool while we were out all morning and the sand claw was the coolest toy on the beach for sure!

2) Backyard Essentials: Invest in an inflatable pool like this Pirate Ship pool that Waylon did not want to get out of…ever never ever ever. I let him water the plants with is canon as he yelled “arrrrgh, fire in the hole!”

3) Vacation Essentials: If you’re taking a trip this summer consider making it even more memorable with personalized luggage and sleeping bags. We take a road trip up the coast to Northern California every summer but this year we let the boys have their own suitcase and sleeping bag which has actually helped them take ownership over there things. I instantly fell in love with these Emily & Meritt Lion sleeping bags and the happen to be made of the softest material and these Mackenzie hard sided luggage with spinners kept them busy for hours. Seriously they both had so much fun helping me pick out what they wanted to bring on our trip. Then they gave me kisses and pretended to leave on their own trips wheeling their cases around the house. I love the skateboard camo print too!Summer essentials for zero boredomSummer essentials for zero boredomSummer essentials for zero boredomSummer essentials for zero boredomSummer essentials for zero boredomSummer essentials for zero boredomSummer Essentials for Zero BoredomSummer Essentials for Zero BoredomSummer essentials for zero boredom
