Ya’ll we’re two days into the school year, woohoo! I got a little bit teary-eyed for a hot second when I dropped Waylon off for his first day of first grade but then I recalled all the power struggles we had over screen time in the last month and the tears subsided. I’m welcoming the school year with open arms as a mama that needs structure and routine again. In June I’m ready for summer but come August I’m so ready for fall, sweaters, pumpkin spice candles (cliché I know) and back to school! But there’s something about summer’s end that has me nostalgic; I love looking back on the summer memories and savoring all that we did together over the last 3 months.
This summer’s main event was definitely the arrival of our little girl Ruby Jean. We normally travel to Santa Cruz for a week in July but Ruby kept us on lock down at home so we filled our time with family, friends and the beach.
One of the best things we received for our active family was the Veer Cruiser! The Veer Cruiser is essentially a wagon that breaks the mold for all wagons. It’s like a premium stroller with the fun and all terrain capabilities of a wagon. We took it on a couple outings before Ruby arrived and the boys loved it. As a very pregnant mom with two active boys I loved it because it was so easy to push or pull and navigate around town.
The Veer Cruiser made our “almost” daily ice-cream runs a lot more fun! We’re at one of our favorite Taco Shops called Cessy’s in Carlsbad here. They serve up the best rolled tacos and soft serve around.
You don’t even want to know how many times Zeke asked for his TACOOOOSSSS here… like a million. Oh and when he got his tacos he did not want to share one bite, pretty standard I should not have been surprised.
It’s easy to clean up, which is key for us since the first time we used it you’d think we brought back part of the beach with us… Sam literally hosed it down with water and it dried like new. Also there’s several compartments that are handy for parental things like phones, wallets and coffee. The sides fold down for easy travel and getting it in and out of the car.
When Ruby joined our team we added the carseat attachment and pack all our things in our Veer Cruiser for the beach as a family of 5.
I just love this moment of the boys… Zeke had a full head of sand in his hair and they were being best buds giggling while I wore Ruby and pulled them down the jetty.
Waylon became part fish this summer after two rounds of swim lessons at our local pool… he looks quite at home here.
Saying goodbye to summer doesn’t mean goodbye to adventure! If you’re interested in hearing more about the Veer Cruiser click here and watch their video. We highly recommend it for all families wanting to go further together.

Chrissy
