Q: What’s the first article of clothing you put on a baby?
A: A diaper!
I realized this when it was pointed out to me by the Pampers team at the Proctor & Gamble headquarters in Cincinnati last month. Ruby and I had the honor of joining the Pampers Baby Board and were flown out to Ohio to meet the team and learn what truly makes Pampers the best choice in diapers. We were supposed to come with questions about diapers, diapering and all things baby as they really are the authority on all those subjects. In my 3 week postpartum fog the only question I could come up with was: “How do you make them smell so good?” Pampers were the first item of clothing that was placed on all my babies and that sweet scent is nostalgic for me… it takes me back to those first days of life in the hospital when the whole world stops and your presence is 100% focused on what really matters.
Hospitals choose Pampers because every parent and medical professional wants babies to be surrounded by comfort and love. There were serval times that I teared up during my time at P&G learning more about Pampers because of the level of care and love they have for babies and families of all types. One time in particular was during a presentation by their head neonatal nurse when she explained Pampers Premie Program. Did you know Pampers makes the smallest diaper that clothes a baby weighing less than a pound? I held the tiny premie diaper up against my own newborn’s bum to scale just how small these precious little ones are. My heart broke thinking of the parents (like my own sister who had a 1 lb. miracle baby) who have to go through such a hard journey. But it made me happy to know there is a company like Pampers that is designing the very best diapers for the littlest of lives.
It’s mine and Pampers’ belief that babies should feel swaddled in love with EVERY touch and nothing touches a baby’s skin more than a diaper – nearly 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That’s why Pampers is introducing an upgraded Swaddlers diaper that is 2x softer to keep babies more comfortable than ever and offer the most premium protection. Pampers Swaddlers with Heart QuiltsTM provides ultimate softness and absorption with their innovated liner that provides breathability and comfort while pulling wetness and mess away from the skin. This technology and Pampers Air ChannelsTM allows air to reach baby’s skin to help keep babies stay dry and comfortable while providing up to 12 hours of protection. You know what happens when you have 12 hours of protection from wetness…..more SLEEEEEEP!
We’re so blessed to be able to swaddle our Ruby in love with every touch and with every diaper. I encourage you learn more about the new Pampers Swaddlers with Heart QuiltsTM and join the #SwaddledinLove conversation on Instagram!
