Four is the age of marginal maturity; the age when reason starts to show it’s face for a split second ha ha. Waylon has been four years old for 5 months and is much more interested in pretend play and interacting with adults. I know he’s watching every move we make and registering it somewhere in his magnificent brain. This activity was perfect for him; it allowed him freedom to be creative all the while giving him a sense of mastery. We let him take over our kitchen and create a “dessert cereal” with carob chips because he thinks they’re chocolate but they’re really much healthier. Aside for chopping walnuts we let him pour and mix it all on his own with his favorite ingredient and food of all time… MILK!
Waylon’s Carob Cereal Recipe:
- 3 cups puffed corn or Puffins cereal
- 1/4 cup carob chips
- 1/4 dried coconut shavings
- 1/2 cup dried cherries, cranberries, goji berries and raisin mix
- 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 cups milk
This is a sponsored post for Got Milk. All thoughts, words and images our my own! We generally just really love milk in this family.
