Why Manifestion is NOT Woo Woo

Why Manifestion is NOT Woo WooWhen I say that I’m the last person who would learn about manifestation I mean it…I was so locked up in my evangelical Christian box that I would never consider how God could actually create with me. I felt like a puppet just waiting for the good and bad to happen to me and when it did it was God’s fault… the good and the bad.

The problem with this thinking is that it makes God into the hero and the villain. As much as I loved God I also feared that if I messed up then God wouldn’t give me what I wanted…news flash to 20 year old Chrissy…. that’s not how God works; that’s so far from God’s character.

There was a popular Christian book that came out in 2000 called The Prayer of Jabez that quickly caught fire (in a good way) in the Christian church.

The Prayer of Jabez: Breaking Through to the Blessed Life is a book by Bruce Wilkinson published in 2000 by Multnomah Books…It is based on the Old Testament passage 1 Chronicles 4:9–10:

Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.” Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from the evil one.” And God granted his request. (NIV)

In the book, Wilkinson encourages Christians to invoke this prayer for themselves on a daily basis:

I challenge you to make the Jabez prayer for blessing part of the daily fabric of your life. To do that, I encourage you to follow unwaveringly the plan outlined here for the next thirty days. By the end of that time, you’ll be noticing significant changes in your life, and the prayer will be on its way to becoming a treasured, lifelong habit.[citation needed]

When I started learning about manifestation this book came to mind as it’s about a man that co-created WITH God. Isn’t that why we’re here on earth? To reflected back to God? We are made in God’s image therefore we are creators and cocreatorrs with God. It all started to make sense. Then I learned about the psychology behind manifestation and it blew my mind. This word may have a “woo woo” reputation but it’s sciences + creation together.

Neural manifestation is simply reprograming your subconscious beliefs from the programing you received usually from ages 0-5. This is what we do in therapy all the time. We have to reprogram our belief system about ourselves and others in order to love our authentic selves. It’s not shocker to me that when you become your most authentic self you are blessed with the desires of your heart because you actually believe you are worth it and deserving of such things.

As a Christian I manifest with God. I get so excited to peel of layers of distorted thinking and limiting beliefs from culture and bring blessings into my life WITH God. I never believe that the good I receive is all my own doing but do I have a part in it, yes!

I’m not a bystander in my life I am the creator or the life I want and I trust God to join me on that journey.

Some of the biggest things I’ve manifested are: a job with a brand for 20K on Instagram, a better marriage, a thriving private practice, 2 trips to Hawaii, a recent all paid trip to Disneyland and a group of friends that are like family who encourage me to grow without judgement.

I don’t write all that to brag just to expand your own thoughts to believe that what you want in life is possible. Is it easy? Heck no! Changing your thoughts and limiting beliefs is freaking hard but it’s one of the best journeys I’ve ever been on.

You’re probably wondering by now “how did you get into this”? I was feeling stuck and jaded with the American version of Christianity and I was locked up in my body from past trauma so I started to listen to the Expanded Podcast by Lacey Phillips and after a year of listening to her podcast I was ready to see what manifestation was all about. I’m still going through the workshops at tobemagnetic.com but the journal prompts and deep imaginings are so therapeutic I might just be working through this for the next 20 years.

PS for any Christians reading this and “concerned” for me please don’t be, I still love Jesus… I just also love the LGBTQ community, believe Black Lives Matter, Science is real, and Jesus wasn’t white. My old box of Christianity didn’t allow me to do that and now I feel free to be me and love like Jesus does. Phew might have to do another post on deconstructing at a later date. 😉

Here is some info from the tobemagnetic.com website that I found might be helpful for anyone interested in manifestation. I highly recommend starting with How To Manifest and then moving on to Unblocked Inner Child then Unblocked Shadow. It will help you discover any of your blocks in living life authentically and it will change you.

Why Manifestion is NOT Woo Woo

The Law Of Attraction

Put simply, the law of attraction is the universal principle that you will attract what you believe you are worth. This is why my manifestation process is built around rewiring the subconscious and raising your self worth.

Self-worth is the value we put upon ourselves, or how we see our own value. It’s common to confuse self worth with self esteem. Self-worth is how we value ourselves in the long run, whereas self-esteem is how we feel about ourselves in any given moment, which can ebb and flow quite frequently.

Our self-worth develops from subconscious programming we experience between the ages of 0-25. Any pain, shame, abandonment, or trauma that we faced throughout those first years of life create a foundation of low self worth that lives on the subconscious level. In order to surpass limited self worth, you must reprogram your thinking.

How to Manifest Your Dreams?

The old model of manifestation would ask you to create a vision board to manifest your destiny. Maybe you’ve been repeating the same affirmation hundreds of times a day to manifest happiness and yet nothing is coming through. You’re running in circles, trying to figure out the laws of the universe. I get it because I’ve been there.

After years of trial and error, I learned that results come when you reprogram your subconscious mind, commit to shadow work, and raise your self worth. The law of attraction is based on self worth. And with authentic worth, anything you desire can manifest.

How To Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind?

The power of your mind is profound. In fact, your subconscious dictates 100% of your manifestations. You will only be able to call in what you subconsciously believe you are worth.

All of my manifestation workshops are designed to re-program your subconscious mind to manifest dreams. Through my self hypnosis technique, you can effectively slow down your brain waves, access your subconscious mind, and reprogram limiting beliefs. This is a process that takes time and repetition, but the work is significantly more effective than abundance manifestations or vision boards.

If you want to manifest now, it’s time to reprogram your subconscious.

What Is Shadow Work Therapy?

Shadow work is at the core of my manifestation process and workshops. Shadow, the rejected aspects of ourselves, limits our self worth and manifestations. It also keeps us in a cycle of shame and fear. Owning and integrating our shadow has the power to create deep healing and powerful self worth. Once we can embrace the aspects of self of which we were programmed to be shameful, we can fully become our most magnetic, authentic selves.

While all of my work centers around integrating shadow, I’ve built a workshop specifically to release shame, guilt, and self criticism. Through this work, you’ll Identify the origin of any feelings of unworthiness, heal wounds that block you from returning to your most authentic self, and rewire your neural pathways to replace limiting beliefs with self empowerment. With an integrated shadow, you’ll be able to raise your worth and attract all that you desire.
